Chaparrosa Ranch entered into the E 6 Program hosted by the Beefmaster Breeders United in 1996. At the 1998 San Antonio Livestock Exposition All Breed Commercial Female Sale , Chaparrosa Ranch had the Champion Beefmaster E 6 Certified Open Heifers.

The E 6 program is designed to add value to the female being produced by top commercial cattlemen who use Beefmaster genetics in their breeding programs.
The Female that go into this breeding program have been certified to be at least 50 percent Beefmaster and can be as much as 100 percent.

Today Chaparrosa has a total of approximately 350 E 6 cows that are being bred to Black Angus Bulls. The steers from this cross and being fed and carcass data is being collected.

Chaparrosa Ranch is marketing of the E 6 heifers as replacement cattle for the ranchers interested in the Beefmaster as the base for their breeding program. They would be able to breed this E 6 heifer to any bull of their choice.
